Maison Bellevue  is situated  in picturesque Munster, famous for it’s rooftop stork nests and unique Munster cheese, right in the heartland of Alsace.

This picturesque property backs onto a natural mature pine forest containing a variety of wildlife and a crystal clear stream running it’s length. Maison Bellevue is a leisurely 5 minute walk to the town square where one can stock up on delicious local produce from artisan boulangeries, charcuteries or from the weekly produce market. Or simply enjoy the famous Alsatian cuisine at one of our numerous restaurants.

 A 20 minute drive to the beautiful town of Colmar and only a short drive to the wine villages of Alsace, Munster is the perfect base camp. Easy access to excellent skiing slopes in winter and to the many walking and biking trails in summer makes Maison Bellevue the place to stay.

Piste and cross country skiing are about 15kms away in La Schlucht, and there are many well marked hiking routes all around us. 5 minutes away in  Munster  there is a new swimming pool and tennis courts. 

Colmar (20kms) has good shopping and many fine restaurants, lovely buildings and a canal district known as Little Venice. It is a sheer delight with a network of beautifully preserved medieval streets in its centre.  It is a major centre for the Alsace wine trade and has one of France's leading art museum, the Unterlinden museum which is said to attract more visitors than the Louvre.

Sélestat (40 kms) has many old houses and a library containing rare manuscripts and early printed works. Close by is the massive medieval château of Haut-Koenigsbourg standing proudly on top of a 2,500ft hill, with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.

There are literally scores of wine villages, where you can visit vineyards and taste, but they say that if you haven't seen Riquewihr, you haven't seen Alsace.  It has hardly changed over the centuries with its half timbered houses, fine carvings, statues and churches, and even the signs have been there for three hundred years.

Obernai is a beautiful little town well worth visiting, again with many half timbered houses. It has a covered corn exchange, a six-bucket well, the 13th century Kappelturn tower, a fine town hall and many good views and walks along the old village walls.
